HATS off to local man Dennis Cook who decided that the snow was not going to stop him getting to work.
DortmundLast Wednesday morning after a night of heavy snow, he set off from his home in Wotton to walk to work in Dursley. One hour and 40 minutes and five miles later, he arrived at Lister Shearing to start work. Mr Cook set off at 6.50am trudging through several inches of snow and got into his workplace at 8.30am - and on Friday evening, he also walked home after doing overtime.
A coffee morning is being held at 11am on Friday, January 22, in St Mary's Parish Room to discuss improving the organisation of the shoe box appeal. Everyone is welcome to come and give ideas. Call Mary on 843 404 if you are interested.
Wotton branch of the Gloucester and Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the branch formation with Replica Gucci a special Evensong at St Mary's at 5pm on Saturday, January 30.
Wotton's twinning group, the Beaumont-le-Roger Society, is appealing for more member to capitalise on the town's French connections and experience the reality of life on the continent . Beaumont-le-Roger is a town in Normandy, similar in size to Wotton about 30 miles south-west of Rouen and 80 miles west of Paris.
