KATE BURRY knows she has big shoes to fill next year.
Fake Emporio Armani WatchesBut the new head girl of Sacred Heart Girls' College already has a stack of plans for the school and is determined to carry on her predecessor's good work.
At the top of the 17-year-old's list is a desire to form closer relationship with other schools in the region and get them all working together.
"I want to meet with the other leaders once a months and organise events that will get the region's youth meeting each- other," Kate said.
As a keen arts and drama student, who took the lead in the school's production of Bugsy Malone this year, Kate also wants to promote the arts a little more.
She said groups such as the Sacred Heart Tenners, a choral group that has succeeded on a national the Stainless Steel Bracelet factory in hackensack stage this year, are showing people a new side to drama and music.
"People are realising that choral singing isn't just about classical stuff - it can be upbeat as well."
Kate said she only really decided to apply for the head role this year, after a few people suggested it to her and she saw the inspirational affect this years' leaders had on the school.
"I really love the school a lot and I love the people here and I
embroidered patches thought it would be nice to be the person to hear them and talk to them about issues and that sort of thing," Kate said.
"Carinnya was just brilliant this year - really humble and kind and approachable, and I want to carry on like that."
Sacred Heart was a great school to be a part of because of its smaller size and special religious character, she said.
" I definitely see the religious aspect as a positive. It means you learn about morals and the value of love and respect. I think that it's really important for people to learn about those morals.
"It makes it a really friendly school."
Kate takes over her new role when school resumes in February.
